During its political Bureau, AER started a debate on European economic governance with the participation of Mercedes Bresso, President of the Committee of the Regions, and Richard Corbett, Institutional Affairs advisor to Herman van Rompuy, President of the Council.
Bringing together 270 regions from 34 countries and 16 interregional organisations, AER is the largest independent network of regions in wider Europe. Its current President is Michèle SABBAN.
