Political priorities
  • Implementation of the Den Bosch / Belfort Declaration (2009)
  • Mobilisation of the AER regions, so that together they could develop strong measures in favor of Equal Opportunities
  • Promotion of Equal opportunities within the AER Regions : the Standing Committee will work on persuading regions to include Equal opportunities among their political priorities and will ensure that appropriate measures are effectively implemented in the regions' policies.
  • Exchange of experience and best practices, so that regions can learn from one another
  • Fight against stereotypes and prejudice
  • Work on Violence , which will be the main topic of the Conference organized in Murcia (June 2010)
  • Follow-up of the changes that occurred within the AER member regions since the Venice Declaration (2003) and the Manifesto of Catalonia (2002) were adopted
  • Include all equality issues in the Standing Committee's work , including, among others, homophobia or racism.
Main objectives
  • To facilitate an exchange of experience and best practice between regions on equal opportunities issues.
  • To promote the principles of Equal Opportunities at regional and European levels.
  • To ensure that institutional developments within the European framework and at regional level respect equal opportunities.
  • To keep members informed on Equal Opportunities issues across Europe (Information dissemination).
