Christmas meeting of Lower Silesia's partner regions

On 11th of December 2009 representatives of partner regions of Lower Silesia visited Polish Region. It was a unique opportunity not only to sum up past activities within the project “Partnership for Good” but also two years of international cooperation of our region.

Lower Silesia was visited by representatives of 14 partner regions. 6 of them are project partner in the project P4G (co-financed from Norwegian Financial Mechanism – consisting of series of study visits,  meetings, conferences and training courses for civil servants) – four of them were present during the event: Emilia Romagna (Italy); Basque Country(Spain),Styria (Austria), Alsace. Apart from regions engaged in the project there were also other regions: Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, Pardubice, Liberec, Hradec Kralove, Olomoucky, Leningrad, Dniepropietrovsk, Central Denmark, Vastmanland and Central Ostrobothnia.

Self-government of Lower Silesia invited also consuls of Germany, Russia, Denmark, France, Austria, Kingdom of the Netherlands having their seats in Wrocław and members of Regional Assembly of Lower Silesia: Dorota Czudowska, Ewa Rzewuska, Ali Jean Eric Alira, Jacek Pilawa, Pawel Wroblewski, Secretary of the Voivodeship – Dariusz Kowalczyk and representatives of Marshal’s Office of Lower Silesia.

Within the working group P4G meeting results of project implementation since May 2008 till December 2009 were discussed as well as activities for 2010 were planned.

In the second part of the meeting joint undertakings implemented in last two years were presented.

The final part of the event was official dinner “Christmas dinner of the partner regions” that gave opportunity of tasting typical Christmas dishes and listening to the concert of Sygit Band (the most beautiful international and Polish Christmas carols).

Organizer of Christmas meeting and dinner was International and European Regions Cooperation Office at Marshal’s Office of Lower Silesia.

This meeting was organized for the fourth time starting from 2005 in Krobielowice Castle. Due to the meeting partner regions get to know to one another and become project partners and it is additional advantage of the event.
