The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is seeking an EU Project Manager in charge of two INTERREG IVC projects on regional innovation strategies respectively regional energy policy based in Strasbourg/France.
AER is the largest independent network of regions in wider Europe. Bringing together more than 250 regions from 35 countries and 16 interregional organisations, AER is the political voice of its members and a forum for interregional co-operation.
The purpose of this full time post is to manage two INTERREG IVC projects (2/3 of post) and to contribute to other projects and activities within the AER General Secretariat (1/3 of post). Under the guidance of the Senior Policy Coordinator of Committee 1 “Economy and Regional Development”, the EU Project Manager will be in charge of
- Planning, implementing and controlling AER’s work packages in the project, which mainly consist in the adaptation, implementation and monitoring of “Peer Reviews” on regional innovation strategies respectively energy strategies
- Participation in the meetings of the projects’ monitoring board, steering committee or financial managers and other relevant meetings
- Financial and content reporting, controlling, administration and documentation of the project works - Coordination with the Lead Partner, other project partners, the First Level Controller and other relevant actors
- Contribution to the project’s dissemination activities and organisation of events - Contribution to other activities of the AER Secretariat, such as organisation of events and meetings, research or drafting of documents
The successful applicant will have
- An academic background in economics, political science or project management, - Experience in managing EU funded Projects, preferably INTERREG IVC projects,
- Experience in developing regional innovation and / or energy strategies through peer learning methods,
- Fluency in English and French (spoken and written), any additional language will be an asset,
- Good computer literacy (Office, Internet, Typo 3),
- Willingness to travel, - Strong organisational skills,
- Experience in working in an international environment.
Apart from compliance with the above-mentioned requirements, an important criterion for selection will be how quickly a candidate can become operational.
The EU Project Manager will be hired on the basis of a limited contract under French law.
