The working group is the main body supporting the implementation of the AER energy action plan. It is chaired by Kenneth Backgard, County Councillor in Norrbotten (S).

On 21-22 September 2012 the 10th ENCORE biennial Conference will take place in Assen (Region of Drenthe, NL).
AER members Regions are invited to participate!
Established in 1993, ENCORE (Environmental Conference of the Regions of Europe) is a forum for the regional political environmental leaders of the European Union. Dedicated to political cooperation between Regional Environmental Ministers and political leaders of the EU Regions, ENCORE aims to contribute to the effective implementation of EU environmental policy, to improve environmental governance and to promote sustainable development in the regions of Europe.
The Conference will provide politicians with a forum for discussing environmental issues of regional significance and will enable regions to establish a common position and exert their collective influence on the formulation of environmental policy within the EU.
Participation is free of cost.

The MORE4NRG INTERREG IVC project aimed at strengthening the delivery of regional strategies for renewable energy sources and energy efficiency through the exchange of best practices and the development of an integrated monitoring tool to measure the effect of regional sustainable energy strategies.
AER, together with several of its member regions, was a partner of this 3-year-project that ended in September 2011.
