AER contribution to CoR consultation:

- Whitebook on Multilevel Governance -

The Committee of the Regions is launching a general consultation to collect the views and comments of local and regional authorities, associations and other stakeholders on the best way of implementing multi-level governance in Europe. Consultation open until 30 November 2009.

AER is contributing with its own position on the role of regions and regional associations in the European Union governance mechanism. The AER position on Multilevel Governance has been adopted at the General Assembly in Belfort on 26 November 2009.

CoR Whitebook on Multilevel Governance - Background

In 2008 the CoR relaunched the debate on EU governance and on multilevel governance in the EU in particular. For the first time ever the CoR published in the course of 2009 a White paper in order to formulate its vision of the future of European governance.
