Conference on Alcohol & Youth and Committee (2) Plenary session

How can regions protect young people from alcohol-related harm?

Introduction

17 May 2011: Closing Conference of the A.Dri.A project - How can regions protect young people from alcohol-related harm?

The A.Dri.A crossborder project "Youth distress and alcohol-related problems: knowledge, innovation, experimentation" aims to tackle the issue of alcohol consumption among youth. The project intends to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, data and project experience among the partner regions and help define joint actions to promote and safeguard the health of youth.
AER members are invited to join the closing conference of the A.Dri.A  project and to learn about the project outcomes and share regional best practices on this major issue.

18 May 2011: Join the AER Social Policy and Public Health Committee Plenary session!

2011 started off with a lot of initiatives and activities! The first European Innovation Partnership has been launched, the Directive on cross-border healthcare has been adopted... Join our plenary session and get an update on the latest developments in the field of social policy and public health.

We will discuss with the Commission its proposal for supporting innovation for healthy and active ageing. This is the regions' chance to tell them what they think should be the European policy and funding priorities in this area.

The Directive on cross-border healthcare will also be on our agenda: after months of negotiations, the directive has been adopted, taking into consideration some suggestions raised in the AER position. Now, what does this directive mean for the regions? Do they have to change anything in their health services? And who will pay for the changes?

Finally, the AER Plenary Session will give you an update on the activities of our networks and give you the opportunity to present your region's latest actions.

If you want to contribute to the programme of the plenary session and present the activities of your region, please contact us!
