What can regions do to promote active ageing?
In light of the European Year 2012 on Active ageing and intergenerational solidarity, participants discussed possible commitments that AER and its member regions can undertake to support active ageing policies and tools, for example revising employment, lifelong learning or health and social policies to ensure they promote active and healthy ageing.
We also discussed the latest developments of the first European Innovation Partnership dedicated to Active and Healthy Ageing and more generally how regions can stimulate and profit from innovation in this area.We explored the links to be made with other topics and working groups within AER (e.g. education, e-health, independent living, youth, equal opportunities...)
Is you region taking any commitments in view of the European Year 2012? Inform us!
