Committed to the MDGs, which call for poverty eradication through full and productive employment and decent work for all, including women and young people, AER develops and implements initiatives to tackle youth unemployment. To this end, the 13th AER Summer School and the 7th AER Youth Summer School which took place on 24-30 August 2008 in Östersund, Sweden, had a special focus on “Youth entrepreneurship in Europe's regions”.
Now, in the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, the AER Seminar on Youth Entrepreneurship will set the groundwork for future actions in this field.
This AER seminar will bring together experts in youth entrepreneurship training to make an introduction on youth entrepreneurship, outline its importance and share views in this field for maximizing the efficiency of plans set by local authorities aiming at significantly stimulating social profits of the regions.
Representatives of regions and youth entrepreneurs that successfully developed and implemented a training plan for youth social entrepreneurs will stand as examples of best practice.
Particular focus will be given to different types of youth entrepreneurship, namely
-social entrepreneurship,
-cultural entrepreneurship,
-creative entrepreneurship,
that could stimulate young people to start their own business, and transform their creative ideas into innovative business bearing profit for all.
