Women and social policies at times of economic crisis

A Conference of the AER Standing Committee on Equal Opportunities, in collaboration with:

AER SCEO and the Comunidad Valenciana (ES) organized a European seminar entitled „Women and Social Policies at times of economic crisis“ in the beautiful city of Valencia on September 21, 2010.

The Comunidad Valenciana presented its new Law on the Protection of Maternity, and then a series of round tables debated over the following topics :
1. “How does the economic crisis affect social policies (and, in particular, those concerning women) in European Regions?”
2. “Social Policies in favor of women”
3. “Public Administrations: how to encourage companies to be socially responsible and to implement gender equality?”

Furthermore, during this meeting, the SCEO President and Vice Presidents were elected.
