This month's AER Breakfast Briefing will provide information on the possibilities for financing healthcare that are offered under the EC Structural Funds and on a new opportunity for regions to contribute to the implementation of the EU Health Strategy.
The event is kindly hosted by the Timis County Brussels Office. Timis County also holds the Presidency of the AER Social Policy and Public Health Committee.
The European Structural Funds have, for the first time, included health as a priority area in the current funding period. It is important that regions spend the funds to make sustainable investments in healthcare. The European Commission has invested in providing regions with the necessary knowledge and tools to make use of the available funds and learn what makes for a sustainable investment in this area.
In recognition of the important role regions have in health, the European Commission has set up a new platform for cooperation between the European Commission-DG SANCO and the Committee of the Regions. Come to learn about how this platform works, who can participate and what it will work on.
