Introduction
Making European Territorial Cooperation tangible

Topics covered:

  • European Territorial cooperation - background and operation principles
  • European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC)
  • Showcasing of good practices from other European regions
  • Project generation

Aim:

  • Familiarise participants with the concept, policy and operation principles of European Territorial Cooperation
  • Provide technical support for project development and implementation and identification of partners
  • Make participants aware of the EGTC instrument, its operation principle and possible application in the region

Course dates: 29-30 April 2010

Place: Arcus, Covasna, RO

Target group: regional officers, project managers of AER member regions from Romania. Any other AER member is welcome to join the training. Please contact Regine Kramer r.kramerdelete_me(at)aerdelete_me.eu should this apply to you.

Method:  A combination of lectures, good practice examples and workshop will provide the format of this training session. The trainers work themselves in the field they teach. This so called peer learning approach enables participants to learn from their counterparts elsewhere in Europe through direct contact and practical cooperation.

Background information

European Territorial Cooperation is one out of three objectives of European Cohesion policy with the purpose of reducing economic and social disparities. 

Objective one: Convergence

Objective two: Regional Competitiveness and Employment

Objective three: European Territorial Cooperation

 

The European Territorial Cooperation objective is financed from ERDF and organised along three axes:

1) Cross-border cooperation, 2)Transnational cooperation, 3) Interregional cooperation supporting various activities and programmes.

During the period 2007 to 2013, Romania takes part in carrying out 11 programmes related to the European Territorial Cooperation objective.
