The Standing Committee is happy to welcome Alain Lamassoure, MEP and former French Minister for European Affairs on October 10th. French President Nicolas Sarkozy has commissioned Mr. Lamassoure to draft a report on "European Citizens and Community Law Implementation". The report touches concrete problems citizens face in their daily life due to their increased mobility within the European Union. Lamassoure states that while borders have been falling “harmonious living in that common space is impeded by countless obstacles”.
Please find below an executive summary of the report including recommendations in English, as well as the complete report as well as recommendations in French. Further articles can be found on Alain Lamassoure's website.
