The Communication Atelier was a once a year AER event which served first of all as a platform for best practice exchange of various regional communication strategies. The Communication Atelier was based on the AER communicating Europe Award which was identifying those regions which were most active and creative in bringing Europe closer to its citizens. Secondly, the Communication Atelier was addressing each year a particular topic of high relevance. Divided into panel discussions and workshops, the atelier explored how European issues could be adapted and communicated to meet local needs of the citizens and regions.
