Providing regional responses to energy challenges

The European Regions Energy Day will bring together regional decision makers and energy experts from all over Europe and aims at providing regional responses to key energy questions.
Energy efficiency, security of supply and respect for the environment are the major challenges that regions are faced with. According to the IPCC report, 50 to 70% of the climate change adaptation and mitigation measures are to be implemented at a regional level.
The European Regions Energy Day will discuss the role of regions in climate protection and energy policy and showcase regional solutions. Each year this summit will mark the conclusion of AER’s activity on energy issues of the previous year and inform stakeholders about the policy solutions developed in peer reviews and seminars.
IMPORTANT: Due to the holding of other major events on the same date we strongly recommend early booking of hotels!

The objective of the AER study is to set out how energy is produced and consumed in the European regions. It also seeks to highlight the major policy measures and instruments used by the sub-national authorities to harness the potential of renewable energy sources.
