The last AER Committee C plenary meeting and the Centurio Conference was held on last 6 May 2005 in Ponta Delgada, Azores (P). Around 90 participants attended the plenary session after six working groups meetings. Were adopted several decisions, among which the creation of a new working group on economic development and the agenda of the upcoming Conference on rural development, to be held in the framework of the Centurio programme in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (UK).
The two major issues tackled during this plenary meeting were the promotion of quality agriculture, coupled with the campaign on GMOs and the topic of regional aviation, in the context of the recently published EC guidelines on regional airports and start-up state aid.
All other working documents related to the various points of the agenda are available on the AER intranet under the path: Committee Regional Policies/ Plenary meeting Azores/Working documents
