
Specific and concrete information is pivotal for efficient lobbying, even more so in the framework of the current CAP reform.
In order to provide you with the latest information on the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy and its implications for regions, AER organised on 21& 22 June 2011 a study programm on agriculture & rural development, which was broken up into 2 main phases:
-to take stock of new developments and examine the role of the Parliament in the reform process
-to inform participants on the role their region can play on the other hand.
- 21 and 22/06: Study visits in Gelderland (NL)including stopovers at the Wageningen University and Research Center, a world-class university in agricultural science, dairy research farm De Marke of the Wageningen UR Livestock Research, For farmersan international feed producer focused on sustainability, and a secondary agricultural school.
-to showcase how modern agriculture can combine productivity and sustainability
-to highlight the role of education and research in agriculture and rural development.
