The role for regions in enabling a future for electric vehicles

Following the adoption of the AER Position on the “Need for Electric Vehicle Charging Harmonisation” the region of Hampshire (UK) has taken the initiative to lead on an AER report on the role for regions in enabling a future for electric vehicles.

This report aims to highlight the role for regions in facilitating electric vehicle take up and to develop a greater understanding of what regions can do to align with the developments being pursued by manufacturers, NGOs and other stakeholders. Please find attached a letter by Councilor Melvile Kendal with more details.

A first meeting between all interested regions and representatives from car manufacturers and relevant industry associations will take place on 25 September 2012 in Brussels.

Please note that, in accordance with the document entitled: “AER Strategic Pillar: Reports as a vehicle for AER political advocacy” presented in the AER General Assembly on 26 March 2012, this report can only become a reality if 15 regions agree to actively contribute to it.
