Priorités politiques 2012
-
Monitoring and supporting the development of regional democracy in different countries of Europe
The Standing Committee on Institutional Affairs will focus on European decentralisation processes on regional level and support regional politicans and policy makers with expertise, contacts and relevant information.
-
Ensuring that European governance mechanisms provide the optimal framework conditions for regional democracy in Europe
The Standing Committee will ensure that the voice of the regions is also heard within the framework of the European institutions and the Council of Europe.
-
Communicating Europe
The lack of participation of European citizens to the European elections has shown that European integration is still a process far away from the citizens. Since Europe is more and more affecting our daily life, the Standing Committee will continue to provide its decentralised communication activities about European affairs
-
Institutional capacity building - AER Training Academy
The Standing Committee will continue to provide members with know-how on European institutions and regional lobbying mechanisms as well as on specific European policies or financial instruments. For 2010 the Standing Committee will organise several Training Academies.
Objectifs principaux
- To promote the principle of subsidiarity and the development of regional democracy throughout Europe
- To ensure that institutional developments within the European framework reflect the needs of the regional level
- To facilitate an exchange of experience and best practice between regions on regional democracy and subsidiarity
