On the 11 and 12 September the AER Secretariat launched together with its partner regions the AER Training Academy.
Aim of this new training instrument is to equip regional policy makers and administrators with the necessary means to be able to participate fully in European affairs and governance.
In order to reach this goal the AER together with its partner regions developed a training schedule which will first introduce participants to the EU institutions and the political environment in Brussels, then to regional participation in the European decision making process and finally to means and methods of institutional lobbying. Another part of the training is dedicted to the workings of the European budget, the funding and the various funding programmes available for regional institutions.
