How can you provide better health care with less income and less staff? E-health - the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in health and care – is often presented as a solution to many of today’s societal challenges. Pilot projects at regional level have confirmed that e-health has a positive impact on patients’ health and economic costs.
Now, how do you develop and implement an e-health strategy in your region? How does e-health fit in your budget? What funding is available for e-health at European level? What are the regional departments to be mobilised when implementing an e-health strategy? How to increase patients’ acceptance? How do you manage the transition phase?
Taking the concrete case of the county of Covasna in Romania, we will examine the different issues to consider when you get started in e-health. Examples of experienced regions will illustrate the different aspects and shed light on the main obstacles that can arise. We will also make the link with funding opportunities at European level.
