Deadline: December 31, 2006 - Europe's most innovative region
The Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia together with the AER will honour with an award the most innovative European region in 2007. This European Innovation Award aims to
- recognise an award to the European Regional Authorities' actions as well as their institutions, which have stimulated, fostered and implemented innovation in their territory.
- identify and promote best practices as well as to demonstrate how regions can contribute to regional economic welfare.
Apply Compare Improve, and maybe win!
Our globalised world makes competition intense and the need to innovate a must. By comparing ourselves to others we become aware not only of our differences but also of our competitive advantage. To compare sets creativity free, and fosters new ideas. We therefore would like to encourage all European regions to fill in the attached self-evaluating form, a very easy and highly useful exercise. By filling in the form regions need to evaluate themselves assigning points to specific innovation aspects. This self-evaluation method is based on trust, responsibility, and sincerity.
Why apply? Extensive Publicity at International Creativity Fair
The award is of symbolic value, and the winning regions will gain extensive publicity since they will be announced at the InnovAction Fair, February 15-18 in Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia-I, and spread through the AER network.
The InnovAction in Udine (www.innovactionfair.com) is a unique international fair to promote knowledge, ideas and innovation. It offers the opportunity to find scientific, technological and financial partners, and is targeted at enterprises, incubators, academics and venture capitalists as well as regional authorities.
