Assembly of European Regions set up the AER Youth Regional Network (YRN) conceived as a common platform of youth regional organisations/councils/parliaments on regional level in Europe. This platform is a forum for discussion and exchange of experience between youngsters across all the European Regions. The idea is to bring together young people from European Regions and give them an opportunity to exchange, to share ideas, experiences, differences, hopes, fears, and problems and to find together solutions to their problems or fears. The network allows putting into practice the EU principle of subsidiarity in the field of youth policy.

During the Fall Plenary Meeting on 27 October 2011 in Wroclaw (Lower Silesia, PL) participants elected the Youth President, Vice-Presidents and Heads of the Youth Committees
According to the Strategic Programme, the YRN Presidium will now act as a main decision-making body within the Network.

Olov OSKARSSON, Jämtland (S) is 22 years old. He studies religion and has specialised in corporate ethics. He joined AER in 2008 as a youth team member and has been actively involved in YRN ever since. In 2009 Olov was elected the Chairman of the Youth Committee on Healthcare and Social Affairs. Olov was re-elected as YRN President for the second time.
